Referral Program Terms

Effective April 29, 2025

1. Introduction

Monarch’s new Referral bonus payout program (“Program”) allows eligible customers to earn monetary rewards by referring new users to Monarch. Participation in the Program is subject to these terms & conditions (“Terms”), which Monarch reserves the right to update, modify, or terminate at any time without prior notice. These Terms are subject to all terms and conditions of The Terms of Use and Privacy Policy, which are incorporated herein by this reference.

By participating in the Program, you (“Referrer”) agree to comply with these Terms. Monarch retains full discretion to determine eligibility and participation in the Program.

2. Eligibility

To participate as a Referrer and earn payouts, you must meet the following criteria:

  • You must be a paid or trialing Monarch user at the time of referral. (Referrers who have received a refund on their subscription fee are ineligible.)
  • You must reside in the United States or Canada.
  • You must have an active Monarch subscription regardless of the payment platform, at the time of receiving the Payout (App Store, Google Play, or Stripe).
  • You must not be part of the Monarch For Professionals Program.

Once you have satisfied the eligibility requirements, you can then refer friends who have not previously signed up for or created a Monarch account by sending them your personal referral link, provided to you by Monarch in-product in your account (“Referral Link”). You may share your Referral Link via email, social media and other tools Monarch may provide (but only in accordance with the requirements specified with respect to each such tool).

To qualify as a “Valid Referral”, the referred user (“Referee”) must:

  • Sign up for a Monarch trial and subscription through web billing (not the app store/Google Play) with a referrer’s Referral Link.
  • Subscribe to Monarch's annual plan through web billing (monthly plans or professional sponsored plans do not qualify).
  • Connect at least one financial account to Monarch.
  • Remain on a paid Monarch subscription for at least 30 days without refunds or chargebacks.
  • Reside in the United States or Canada.

Monarch reserves the right to deny referral Payouts if it determines, at its sole discretion, that:

  • The Referee does not meet the eligibility criteria outlined above, or
  • The Referrer or Referee is flagged for fraudulent activity or misconduct as described in Section 4: Fraud Prevention & Ineligibility.

3. Referral Rewards & Payouts

3.1 Rewards & Payouts
  • So long as all eligibility criteria are met, the Referrer will receive a $50 gift card for every Valid Referral (the “Payout(s)”), subject to the annual Payout limit (10 for the calendar year).
  • The Referee will receive 50% off their first year of the annual plan.
3.2 Payout Process
  • Monarch partners with Tremendous to process and distribute referral Payouts.
  • Once the Referee meets all eligibility criteria, Monarch will send an email containing a redemption link to the Referrer to claim the reward.
  • The date Monarch sends the initial reward email is considered the Payout date. Monarch does not have further responsibility for issues occurring on Tremendous’s platform after the initial reward email is sent.
3.3 Annual Reward Cap
  • Referrers can earn up to $500 per calendar year (January 1 - December 31), with each Payout being $50 per Valid Referral.
  • This means a Referrer can earn rewards for up to 10 eligible referrals per year.
  • Any additional referrals beyond the 10-referral limit will not receive a Payout.
  • Extra referrals (more than 10) do not carry over to the following year.
  • At the start of each calendar year (January 1st), the Payout count resets and the Referrer can then begin earning rewards again for up to 10 new referrals.
3.4 Responsibility, Third-Party Processing & Limitation of Liability

Monarch relies on Tremendous to process the Payouts. Monarch is not responsible for any issues, delays, or errors occurring on Tremendous’s platform.

Tremendous has its own fraud prevention mechanisms, and in the case that Tremendous flags a Payout as fraudulent, Monarch has the ability to approve/deny it.

Once Monarch sends the initial reward email with the link to the Tremendous platform, the Payout is considered processed, and Monarch holds no further responsibility for Payout issues.

Monarch is not responsible for:

  • Technical failures, Errors, bugs, or delays in Tremendous’s platform.
  • Fraudulent or unintended referrals leading to ineligibility.
  • Any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from participation in the Program.

Monarch reserves the right to cancel, revoke, or withhold rewards in its sole discretion for any reason including, but not limited to, if a participant violates these Terms or engages in suspicious activity.

3.5 Disclaimer of Warranties; Limitation of Liability

THE PROGRAM PARTICIPANTS EXPRESSLY UNDERSTAND AND AGREE THAT ALL DISCLAIMERS, LIMITATIONS AND RELEASES (AND ALL OTHER APPLICABLE TERMS) IN THE TERMS OF USE APPLY TO ENGAGEMENT WITH THE PROGRAM.

3.7 Taxes

Taxes related to this offer are solely your responsibility. Consult with your tax advisor about the appropriate tax treatment for this offer and any tax implications associated with receipt of the Payout before participating in the Program.

4. Fraud Prevention & Ineligibility

4.1 Fraudulent Activity & Suspicious Behavior

Monarch strictly prohibits fraudulent activities and reserves the right to disqualify any participants engaging in misconduct, including but not limited to:

  • Self-referrals or attempts to create multiple accounts.
  • Using fraudulent payment methods (e.g., stolen credit cards).
  • A high number of the Referrer’s referees initiating refunds, disputes, or chargebacks.

If Monarch detects suspicious refund or dispute activity related to a Referrer’s referrals, the Referrer:

  • Will be deemed ineligible for the Payout.
  • Will be permanently disqualified from participating in the Program.
  • Will not receive further details regarding the decision-making process.

Monarch’s decisions regarding fraud, eligibility, and payout approvals are final and not subject to appeal.

5. Legacy Referral Credits

  • Referral credits earned before Apr 28th, 2025 remain valid and will be applied to subscription renewal payments.
  • Monarch will not convert legacy referral credits into cash payouts.

Referees who signed up for Monarch before Apr 29th, 2025 will remain on the legacy referral system, which grants a $14.99 credit for subscription renewal. Once the Referee meets the eligibility criteria, the referrer will receive the credit, which can only be applied to subscription renewal payments.

6. Program Changes & Termination

Monarch reserves the right to:

  • Modify the Program’s terms, eligibility criteria, or payout structure at any time.
  • Suspend or terminate the Program without prior notice.
  • Adjust referral Payouts or impose additional conditions to prevent abuse.

Continued participation in the Program after any modifications to these Terms constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
