Sync Apple Card, Cash, and Savings on iOS 17.4

We’re very excited to be one of the first personal finance apps to offer full Apple Card support with the launch of iOS 17.4! Monarch can now sync directly with your Apple Wallet on iOS devices, and pull in your transactions and balance history with Apple Card, Apple Cash, and Savings from Apple Card automatically. We are currently rolling out access to this feature. To gain access, you’ll need to upgrade to iOS 17.4 on your device and download the latest version of Monarch (1.0.190).

With this feature, we’ll sync your transactions automatically, and you will no longer need to import statements once the month ends. You'll be able to budget for your purchases made with Apple Card throughout the month, and have access to your live spending data. Check out our instructions here for more information.

For those with existing Apple Card accounts in Monarch, we recommend you sync your Apple Card again as a new account, and remove or hide the old accounts. You can also merge your history from your old Apple Card account to the new one using our merge account flows on desktop, which lets you choose whether you want to move over your old transactions and/or balances.

Other Improvements

  • Updated the net worth chart on the dashboard on mobile to use the new line chart style, with different date range options

  • Added back the ability to see your current asset and liability breakdown on the accounts screen on mobile

  • Updated account detail screen on mobile to use new line chart with better performance

  • Added the ability to export transactions and account balances on web when not in an active subscription, giving everyone access to their data regardless of their subscription status

  • Added more filters to the Reports feature to let you better analyze your cash flow data

  • Added the ability to adjust a manual account’s balance automatically when uploading a CSV of transactions

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed an issue where if you tried to download a CSV of your “needs review” transactions, it was ignoring the “needs review” filter and downloading all transactions

  • Bug fixes and performance improvements related to balance history uploading

  • A number of back-end and infrastructure fixes and improvements to maintain and improve performance

What’s Next

It’s only been a few weeks since our last product update, but we wanted to share the progress we made on Apple Wallet syncing and all of the other improvements we’ve shipped. We’re still hard at work on these big features coming next:

  • A completely overhauled goals system

  • The ability to track bill due dates

  • The fixed / flex budgeting system
